What We Do
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching
A Psychosocial Recovery Coach is a new NDIS support item for participants with a psychosocial disability who requires support managing complex challenges of daily living. The aim is to increase participants’ social and economic independence and participation through the provision of capacity building supports.
What We Do
What is a Recovery Coach?
Recovery coaching is a form of strengths-based support for people struggling with a complex psychosocial disability. A Recovery Coach can act as a mentor, guide and facilitator. A Recovery Coach will get to know you, your emotional needs, and find alternate support providers to enable community connection. A recovery coach will look at the whole picture and place value of your personality, strengths, spirituality, whilst supporting you to thrive in a safe environment. Recovery Coaching assists you to: Build on your strength, prioritise your goals, increase your confidence and build resilience, become motivated to make changes, engage in healthy and meaningful relationships.
Recovery Coaches will focus on coaching participants to have greater participation in managing their lives and will work collaboratively with participants, their families, careers and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan, and assist with the coordination of NDIS and other supports.
Participants will have the option of selecting a recovery coach with lived experience or a recovery coach with learnt knowledge of psychosocial disability and mental health.
