NDIS psychology for people living with complex mental health and psychosocial disability. Delivered by Sunflower Services, a registered NDIS provider, and joined up with our recovery coaching, support coordination and occupational therapy.
For us, it starts with listening: to your story, your strengths and what matters most to you.
Psychology through the NDIS helps you build skills and confidence for everyday life. That might mean managing emotions, coping with stress, keeping routines, connecting with people or getting out into your community. Every session links back to your NDIS goals.
It works alongside your mental health care, not instead of it. If you have a GP, psychiatrist or Medicare-funded psychologist, they keep looking after your treatment. We focus on how your mental health affects daily life, and what helps you live it your way.
Every support is tailored to you and linked to your NDIS goals.
We look at how your mental health affects everyday life, using conversation and evidence-based tools. Clear, plain-language reports set out your needs and recommended supports, ready for NDIS plan reviews and reassessments.
One-to-one sessions that build practical skills for managing emotions, stress and worry, solving problems and growing confidence, using evidence-based approaches.
Strategies for the day-to-day: sleep and routines, planning your week, managing appointments, and staying on track when things get hard.
Support to build and keep relationships, set healthy boundaries, and take part in your community, study or work.
Together we map early warning signs, coping strategies and who to contact, so you have a plan you understand and own.
With your consent, we help the people around you understand what you’re going through and how best to support you.
Our focus is complex mental health and psychosocial disability. It’s where Sunflower has the most experience, through our recovery coaching, support coordination and supported living services.
We welcome referrals from participants, families, support coordinators, recovery coaches, GPs and other providers.
Getting started takes six steps, and you’re in control at each one.
Fill in our online referral form, or ask your support coordinator, recovery coach or GP to refer you.
Our team calls you to talk about your goals, your funding and what you’d like from psychology.
You receive a clear service agreement covering your supports, pricing within NDIS price limits, and how to make changes.
Your psychologist gets to know you and your goals, and you shape a plan together.
Regular sessions, at a pace that suits you.
We check progress against your goals regularly and provide reports when your NDIS plan is reviewed.
Six things shape how we work.
We get to know you before we talk about strategies. Your story, culture and strengths come first, not a diagnosis.
With your consent, your psychologist works with your recovery coach, support coordinator, OT, GP and psychiatrist, so everyone pulls in the same direction.
Recovery looks different for everyone. We build on hope, choice and your own idea of a good life.
Therapy draws on approaches with good research behind them, adapted to suit you.
We work in trauma-informed ways and aim to make every session culturally safe. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQIA+ people and people of all cultures are welcome.
Wellbeing grows through connection. We support you to build relationships and take part in the community around you.
You get the safeguards of a registered NDIS provider, with support that feels personal.
NDIS psychology is usually funded from your Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living budget.
We work with NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed participants, and our pricing stays within the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
No. For NDIS-funded psychology you can refer yourself, or someone can refer you with your consent. A GP referral is only needed for Medicare-funded sessions.
Medicare sessions focus on treating a mental health condition. NDIS psychology builds skills and capacity for daily life, linked to your NDIS goals. Some people use both, for different purposes.
Talk to your support coordinator or the NDIA about whether your Improved Daily Living funding can be used, or whether to ask for a change. We’re happy to help you understand your options.
Yes, if you’d like them to be. You choose who joins sessions and what information is shared.
Details on telehealth and face-to-face sessions will be shared once our psychologist is confirmed.
We’re here to make support simple, personal, and effective. Book a call today and find out if we’re the right team for you.
