Lake Macquarie and the western suburbs

NDIS provider in Lake Macquarie

Seven of our homes sit around Lake Macquarie, which makes it the densest part of our Hunter operation after Newcastle itself.

Sunflower Services is a registered NDIS provider across Newcastle and the Hunter. Around Lake Macquarie we have supported living homes at Edgeworth and Cameron Park, and individualised living at Windale, with support workers covering the wider lake area for people living at home or with family.

Lake Macquarie is bigger than people expect, and the difference between the western suburbs and the eastern lakeside is real, in transport, in services and in what a week actually looks like. Our teams work across both rather than treating it as one place.

If your suburb is not on this list it is still worth asking. Travel time affects what is practical for shorter shifts, but we would rather tell you honestly than leave you guessing.

Getting started

There is no complicated process. Call or send a message saying roughly what you are after, and we will tell you whether we can help and what it would look like. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.

If you are looking at supported living, the next step is usually a visit. Seeing the house and meeting the people already living there tells you more than any description can.

Questions from Lake Macquarie families

Which part of Lake Macquarie are your homes in?

Cameron Park and Edgeworth in the west, close to the motorway and Glendale, and Windale on the eastern side near Lake Macquarie Square. Support work covers the whole local government area.

There are four homes at Cameron Park. Are they the same house?

No, they are separate homes in the same complex. People living in one are not sharing with the others. It does mean that if one is not the right fit, there may be another close by.

Do you cover the southern end, towards Morisset?

Support work and coordination, yes. Travel time can affect what is practical for shorter shifts that far south, so it is worth asking about your specific address.

How does Lake Macquarie differ from your Newcastle service?

Same team, same services, mostly a question of which house and which worker is closest to you. Several of our Newcastle staff live around the lake.

Can I visit a house before deciding?

Yes, and we would encourage it. Who you would be living with matters as much as the house. Visits and overnight stays can usually be arranged.

What if my plan is self managed or plan managed?

All three work. We are a registered NDIS provider, so agency managed plans can use us as well.
