Maitland and the surrounding area
We support people across Maitland, and we have six homes in the area rather than servicing it from somewhere else.
Sunflower Services is a registered NDIS provider working across Newcastle and the Hunter, with an office at Islington and supported living and individualised living homes in Rutherford, East Maitland, Aberglasslyn, Farley, Cliftleigh and Thornton. Support workers cover the wider Maitland area for people living at home or with family.
That matters more than it sounds. A provider with homes in the area has staff who already know the local shops, the transport, the health services and the quirks of each suburb, rather than driving in for a shift and leaving again.
Each of these has its own page with current vacancies, photographs, bedroom and bathroom detail and a description of the street.

If your suburb is not on this list it is still worth asking. Travel time affects what is practical for shorter shifts, but we would rather tell you honestly than leave you guessing.
There is no complicated process. Call or send a message saying roughly what you are after, and we will tell you whether we can help and what it would look like. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.
If you are looking at supported living, the next step is usually a visit. Seeing the house and meeting the people already living there tells you more than any description can.
Both. We have supported living and individualised living homes in Rutherford, East Maitland, Aberglasslyn, Farley, Cliftleigh and Thornton, and our support workers cover the wider Maitland area for people living in their own homes or with family.
It depends what you need. Support work in your own home can usually start within a couple of weeks. A supported living placement depends on a room being available and on whether the house is a good fit, which takes longer and should not be rushed.
Yes, and we would encourage it. Moving into a shared home is a big decision, and who you would be living with matters as much as the house itself. Visits and overnight stays can usually be arranged.
No. People move into our Maitland homes from across the Hunter and sometimes further. If you are considering a move, it is worth talking through what is around the house, transport, shops and what the street is like.
All three work. We are a registered NDIS provider, so agency managed plans can use us too, which is not true of every provider in the area.
Generally yes, though travel time can affect what is practical for shorter shifts. Worth asking about your specific address rather than assuming either way.
